Was war los auf Anti.Muse?

Da ich im wahren Leben so einiges zu tun hatte in den letzten Wochen, gab es im letzten Monat nicht allzu viele Beiträge auf Anti.Muse, dennoch wurden wir 2x in dem wöchentlichen Link Round-Up "Links à la Mode" von der internationalen Blogger Community Independent Fashion Bloggers gefeatured. Ein mal mit unserem Gallery Weekend Sum-up und dann mit der Brand Review und dem Interview mit Mariángeles vom DIY Label "Therapy + Recycle and Exorcise". Außerdem gab es Anfang des Monats eine April Retrospective und die ersten Bilder von meinem Shooting mit quaagmire.com sind online gegangen.

Was war sonst noch los?

Ich habe mir wieder viel Kunst angesehen, den Street Artist Avone in der Rath Gallery, Rancinan in der Urban Spree, aber mein Highlight war definitiv Vera Kochubey's erste Solo-Ausstellung in der Galerie "The Art Scouts", es hat mir wahnsinnig viel Freude gemacht, für den internationalen Kunst-Blog Artefuse darüber zu schreiben.

Was mich noch umgehauen hat, war Viv Albertine, der ehemaligen Gitarristin von den Slits zuzuhören, wie sie aus ihrer Autobiografie gelesen hat. Der Satz des Abends: "I had never looked as boring as when I had money." bringt es auf den Punkt für mich, du kannst dir Klamotten kaufen, aber keinen Style.

Ansonsten habe ich grade einen heftigen River Phoenix Rückfall. Ihr müsst wissen, dass der als Schauspieler bekannt gewordene Musiker und Aktivist mein absoluter Teenage Crush war und diese Arte Dokumentation über ihn zu schauen hat mich direkt in die frühen Neunziger zurück katapultiert.

Außerdem muss ich euch von meinen Erlebnissen mit der Athena Initiative erzählen, aber das ist ein Beitrag für sich, den ich euch erst noch schreiben muss. Haltet also die Augen offen, denn auch im Juni gibt's wieder spannende Sachen auf Anti.Muse für euch.

May is over and it kind of feels like it was over in the wink of an eye. We had sun, we had thunder and I definitely didn't got enough sleep. How was your May?

On the Blog

Due to a little more stress in real life it was a bit quiet on Anti.Muse in May, but still though we got featured two times in Independent Fashion Bloggers weekly link round-up "Links à la Mode". Once with our Berlin Gallery Weekend wrap-up featuring a bold colour-blocking look and the other time with our brand review and interview of Mariángeles from the amazing DIY brand "Therapy + Recycle and Exorcise". We also had an April Retrospective on the blog in the beginning of the month and also the first outfit from my super fun shooting with quaagmire.com went online.

What else has been going on? 

So what else has been going on? I got to see a lot of art again (Avone at Rath Gallery, Rancinan at Urban Spree) but my biggest pleasure was to go and see Vera Kochubey's first solo exhibit here in Berlin at The Art Scouts Gallery. I am also very happy I could write for the contemporary art blog Artefuse about it cause the show was revolt on canvas and simply amazing.

What also blew me away was listening to former "The Slits" member Viv Albertine talking about her autobiography at Dussmann, one of my favourite book stores in Berlin. It was so inspiring and encouraging to listen to her stories. My favourite quote of that night: "I had never looked as boring as when I had money.", sums things pretty much up for me. You can buy clothes, but you can't buy style.

Apart from that I am currently suffering from a heavy River Phoenix relaps. You need to know that he was my ultimate teenage crush and watching this arte documentary lately thew me back to the early nineties.
