Endlich haben wir es mal wieder geschafft, einen Outfit-Post zu schießen. Zum Anlass haben wir uns meine neue Weste genommen. Wer Anti.Muse schon länger liest, der weiß, dass ich nicht nur eine Schwäche für Mode, sondern auch eine für Kunst habe und bei dieser Weste kommt mal eben beides zusammen. Die Idee für eine Mondrian-Weste schwebte mir schön länger im Kopf herum, vor einigen Wochen war es dann soweit, bei Humana habe ich mir eine gebrauchte Jeansjacke besorgt, im Kreativkaufhaus Pinsel und Textilfarbe und dann ging es los, Ärmel ab und Pinsel in die Farbe getaucht. Das gute Stück ist nun selbstverständlich mein neues Lieblingsteil, aber Mondrian hat schon immer, nicht nur die Kunst-, sondern auch die Modewelt inspiriert. Der Niederländer, der Mitbegründer der Künstlergruppe De Stijl war, hat mit seinen streng geometrischen Werken längst Eingang in die Popkultur gefunden. Yves Saint Laurent hat sich von ihm inspirieren lassen, genauso wie Christian Louboutin, die "White Stripes" haben ihr zweites Album "De Stijl" genannt und jüngst tanzte Katy Perry in einem von Mondrian inspiriertem Latex Outfit durch ihr Musikvideo. Die für Piet Mondrian so bezeichnenden Kompositionen in rot, blau und gelb haben Wiedererkennungswert, sie sind längst Teil einer modernen Populärkultur geworden.

It's been a while, but finally we managed to take pictures for an outfit post again. Reason for this shoot was my new vest. If you read Anti.Muse for quite a while now, you know that I not only have a thing for fashion, but for art as well and with this vest both is coming together. I've had the idea for a vest like this in my head for a while now, a couple of weeks ago the idea came alive. I went to Humana to get a used denim jacket, I went to the get some supplies like paint-brushes and colours and then I started, I cut off the arms and dipped the brush into the colour. Of course this vest is one of my favourite pieces now, but Mondrian has always inspired not just the art- but the fashion world. The Dutch, who was one of the founders of the famous artist group De Stijl, has been a part of pop culture with his strict geometric works ever since. Yves Saint Laurent was inspired by him as well as Christian Louboutin, the "White Stripes" have named their second album "De Stijl" and recently Katy Perry was dancing through one of her music videos in a Mondrian inspired latex outfit. The compositions in red, blue and yellow, which are so characteristic for Piet Mondrian, are part of pop culture by now.
Nicht nur Größen wie Yves Saint Laurent oder Christian Louboutin haben sich von Piet Mondrian inspirieren lassen, auch das Alternative Fashion Kult-Label Black Milk Clothing hat dem Niederländer mit der Mondrian-Leggings Tribut gezollt, ebenso haben Vans einen Mondrian-Schuh auf den Markt gebracht und Mademoiselle Ilo sorgt für die Latex-Interpretation der weltberühmten Kompositionen mit rot, gelb und blau. Sogar Nailart gibt es im Mondrian Look. Übrigens, im Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin kann man sich noch bis zum 06.12. die Mondrian Ausstellung "Die Linie" ansehen, die seine Entwicklung als Künstler beleuchtet. There's even Mondrian inspired nailart. By the way, until the 6th of december you can still visit the Mondrian exhibit "the line" in the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin, which focuses on his way and development as an artist.Do you like Mondrian?
