Es gibt Sportarten, die sind uncool und es gibt welche, die sind cool, ja attraktiv sogar. Das Skaten gehört wohl eher zu den letzteren. Ich meine, mal ehrlich, Ollies, Flips, Slides und Grinds - geht's cooler?! Wer bekommt beim Zuschauen nicht sofort Lust darauf, es auch mal mit einem Board zu probieren?! Auch der Style mit den markanten Skatersocks ist oft zum Hingucken. Ende der sechziger Jahre waren diese, auch Tubesocks genannt, sehr beliebt in den USA. Damals haben nicht nur Skater sie getragen, sie waren bei einer ganzen Generation gefragt. Irgendwann haben sie sich zum Markenzeichen der Skatekultur entwickelt, heute sind sie wieder über die Grenzen der Szene hinaus populär. Woran das liegt? Sie sind wandelbar, bequem und irgendwie sexy. Wir lieben Skatersocks, habt ihr auch welche im Schrank?

Skaten und Charity? Passt zusammen wie Topf auf Deckel, wie die Faust auf's Auge, wie das Herz am rechten Fleck und Tony Hawk auf's Skateboard. Also the typical look with the remarkable skatersocks is pretty fresh. By the end of the sixties skatersocks, also called tubesockes, have been really famous in the US. Back then not just skaters wore them, they were popular among a whole generation. At some point they became a trademark for the skateculture. Today they're popular again, also outside of the scene. Why? Cause they're comfortable, versatile and even sexy in way. We love skatersocks, do you have a pair in your closet?

Do you ever think about the rainforest? Me neither, until I watched lot's and lot's of documentaries on youtube one night. I was shocked to find out that from the 1950ies on we managed to cut down the rainforests over half. Hard to think about the fact that, if you use simple mathematics, in a few years there might be no rainforest anymore. Rainforests are millions of years old. About 30.000.000 millions of different amazing animals and plants live and grow in there. Every two seconds, an area as big as a football field is eliminated. The consequence? Not only leads this to species extinction but also climate change is being accelerated and I guess you all heard about that. So what can we do about it?

- use recycled paper

- buy less meat since most feedingstuff contains rainforest products

- avoid products with palm oil (most convenience products, biofuel)

- don't buy products made out of tropical wood

- you can also join earth hour

- spread the word about the issue

- you can connect with WWF or other initiatives to stay up to date or get engaged

Warum zu echtem Pelz greifen, wenn man mit Fake Fur genauso gut aussehen kann? Das habe ich noch nie verstanden. Ich denke echter Pelz ist und bleibt ein Status-Symbol, ein in meinen Augen anitquiertes und frivoles Status-Symbol, eines auf das ich gerne verzichte. Stattdessen greife ich lieber zu Alternativen. Fake Fur ist so eine Alternative die gleichzeitig warm hält und auch noch gut aussieht. Da ich gerne ein bisschen Abwechslung habe sind im letzten Herbst gleich zwei Fake Fur Exemplare in meinen Kleiderschrank gewandert. Diese Investition hat sich als echte Bereicherung meiner Garderobe für kalte Tage erwiesen. Zum einen habe ich mir einen schwarzen Fake Fur Mantel zugelegt der eigentlich zu allem passt, dann musste es aber auch noch etwas sein, dass ein bisschen lauter und spezieller ist, ein Fake Fur Mantel im Leo Look - so einen wollte ich schon immer haben (spätestens seit ich zum ersten Mal dieses Bild gesehen habe). Wie steht ihr zu echtem Pelz und habt ihr auch Fake Fur Varianten im Kleiderschrank? Wenn ihr einen Blick hinter die Kulissen der Pelzindustrie werfen und euch gegen die dort vorherrschende Tierquälerei engagieren wollt, dann empfehle ich euch, auf der Seite der Tierschutzorganisation Peta vorbeizuschauen.

Why wear fur when you can look just as good wearing fake fur? I never got that. I think real fur is and always has been a status symbol, an antiquated and frivolous status symbol, a status symbol, that I really don't need to have in my life. Instead I rather look for alternatives. Fake fur is such an alternative. It keeps you warm and makes you look good at the same time. Since I always like to have a little variety I got myself two fake fur coats last fall. This investment really paid off, the coats are a good addition to my winter wardrobe. First of all I got a solid black fake fur coat, it matches with practically everthing and always makes an impression, but then I wanted something, that's a little louder, a little more bold, something like this, so I got myself a soft fake fur leopard coat. Neues Jahr, neue Haare, zumindest für mich. Blond ist meine solide Basis, aber von Zeit zu Zeit brauche ich Abwechslung und will mal was anderes sehen, wenn ich in den Spiegel schaue. Dieses Mal habe ich mich für gelb entschieden und finde mich damit in einer Riege wunderbarer Frauen wieder - die fabelhafte Cyndi Lauper, die ewig inspirierende Pam Hogg und Vivienne Westwood, die Grande Dame der Alternative Fashion wenn man so will. Sie alle hatten mal gelbe Haare und alle sahen mit dieser ungewöhnlichen Haarfarbe großartig aus. Während pastell Pink, softes Lila oder Mint die gängigen Farben sind, die man mal ausprobiert, wenn man einen alternativen Look versuchen möchte, ist gelb immer noch ein Statement und für gewöhnlich nicht die erste Wahl, dabei passt gelb großartig zu winter-blasser Haut, zu pinkem und zu rotem Lippenstift. Es verleiht einem all-black Look einen besonderen Touch und gibt jedem anderen Look ebenso etwas Besonderes. Habt ihr schon mal daran gedacht, euch die Haare gelb zu färben? Was ist eure Lieblingshaarfarbe und wem, denkt ihr, steht gelb am Besten?

Was Chanel betrifft, ich denke eine der berühmtesten Modemarken der Welt bedarf keiner Vorstellung mehr. Jeder ist vertraut mit dem Imperium, das Madame Coco aufgebaut hat. Alles wurde bereits gesagt über sie, wo der Name Coco seinen Ursprung hat, wie sie ihr Unternehmen gegründet hat, dass sie ihre Kindheit in einem Waisenhaus verbracht hat und unzählige Liebhaber hatte. Alles wurde schon über sie geschrieben, dass sie eine Mode Rebellin war, dass sie die Konventionen der damaligen Zeit herausgefordert hat, dass sie eine Feministin war, die ihrer Zeit voraus war, dass sie das "kleine Schwarze" erfunden hat. Du denkst der Begriff #girlboss ist was Neues? Coco hat ihn schon vor über hundert Jahren gelebt.

Da Anti.Muse ein Blog ist, auf dem es hauptsächlich um Alternative Fashion geht wirst du dich jetzt fragen, was zur Hölle so ein Luxus Brand mit Alternative Fashion zu tun hat. Nichts und alles sage ich. Alternative Fashion bedeutet für mich, kreativ zu sein mit Mode, es geht um Persönlichkeit und Spaß. Warum sich also nicht inspirieren lassen von einer Powerfrau wie Coco und warum nicht Chanel Looks auf seine eigene Art und Weise interpretieren? Außerdem, ist es nicht witzig und ironisch, z.B. seine zerschlissene Punkweste mit einem Chanel Logo zu versehen? Siehst du, genau das meine ich mit Spaß.

Well, talking about Chanel I guess I don't have to introduce you to one of the most famous brands worldwide. Everyone is familiar with the empire Madame Coco created. Everything has been said about her, from her childhood in an orphanage to her many lovers, from where her name was coming from to how she founded her company. Everything has been written about her already, that she was a fashion rebel, how she challenged society back in her days, that she was a feminist ahead of her time, that she invented the little black dress. You think #girlboss is a new thing? Coco did it already a 100 years ago.

Since Anti.Muse is a blog dedicated to alternative fashion, you might ask now, what the hell has got a luxury brand like Chanel to do with alternative fashion? Let me tell you, all and nothing. Alternative fashion to me is about being creative, it's about personality and fun. So why not get inspired by the power women Coco Chanel was and why not get inspired by the iconic looks of her brand? Also isn't if funny, ironic and kind of an ode to the spirit of alternative fashion to spray-paint a big Chanel logo on the back of your punk vest? See, this is what I'm talking about, having fun.

Happy new year allerseits! Wie geht es euch? Ich hoffe ihr alle hattet einen guten Start ins neue Jahr. Wir von Anti.Muse haben Silvester im schönen Amsterdam verbracht und natürlich haben wir ein paar Fotos und Empfehlungen für euch mitgebracht. Für drei Nächte in Amsterdam zu bleiben hat völlig ausgereicht um einen kleinen Überblick über die Stadt zu bekommen. Sich treiben lassen, durch die Straßen spazieren und eine süße Ecke nach der anderen finden, das war es, was wir hauptsächlich gemacht haben. Ich würde Amsterdam schon als eine ziemlich "alternative" Stadt bezeichnen, nicht nur wegen den Coffeeshops und dem Weed, auch wegen den vielen Hausbooten (komm schon, würdest du nicht auch gerne auf einem Hausboot wohnen?!) und den vielen individuellen Vintageshops im Zentrum. Ein Alternative Fashion Liebhaber kann in dieser Stadt alles finden - von sexy Lingerie im Rotlichtviertel zu Vintage Fashion in einem der vielen Vintageshops entlang der malerischen Grachten im Zentrum. Als erstes habe ich meine Amsterdam City Looks für euch und einige Shopping Tipps. Für weitere Empfehlungen scrollt einfach nach unten und lest weiter. • Falls ihr in Amsterdam seid und nach einem netten Café sucht um eine kleine Pause vom Shoppen oder vom Schlendern durch die Straßen einzulegen, empfehlen wir euch das Cloud in der Prinsengracht 276. Uns hat es da ganz gut gefallen. Neben Kaffee und Kuchen zu moderaten Preisen gibt es free Wifi, einen Blick auf den Kanal und auch noch Kunst an den Wänden. Das Clouds ist nämlich nicht nur ein Café, sondern auch noch eine Galerie.
• Ein anderer, schöner Ort zum Verweilen ist das Eye, ein Filmmuseum mit Kino, Café und Restaurant mit einem wunderschönen Rundumblick auf den Amsterdamer Hafen in der Nähe der Central Station. Falls ihr mal einen verregneten Tag erwischt in Amsterdam - hier kann man gut und gerne einen ganzen Nachmittag verbringen.
• Wo wir grade über schöne Aussichten sprechen, einen Besuch der Sky Lounge des Hilton Hotels in der Nähe der Central Station empfehlen wir euch auch. Es ist der perfekte Ort um sich, bevor man zurück zum Flughafen fährt, nochmal von der Stadt zu verabschieden. Die Sky Lounge wird ihrem Namen gerecht, denn sie bietet eine wundervolle Aussicht auf Amsterdams Skyline.
• Falls ihr mal einen netten Drink am Abend wollt empfehlen wir euch das Wynand Fockink, eine urige, charmante, alte Spelunke die Ihre Wurzeln im 17. Jahrhundert hat. Die Stimmung ist gut und der Likör ist saulecker.
• Da es auch noch andere Möglichkeiten gibt, sich in Amsterdam zu berauschen, haben wir natürlich auch in einem Coffeeshop haltgemacht. Für einen "The Doors" Fan ist ein Besuch des Coffeeshops, der nach der Bands benannt ist ein Must.
• Sich mit Kunst berauschen ist aber auch möglich, zum Beispiel im Public House of Art, Amsterdams Anti-Galerie in der Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 39.
• Für ein schnelles aber leckeres und gesundes Frühstück empfehlen wir Bagels and Beans oder wenn es ein bisschen länger dauern kann und die Auswahl größer sein darf De Bakkerswinkel.

RECOMMENDATIONS

• If you are looking for a nice café for having a little break from shopping and strolling through the streets of the city, we found the Cloud in Prinsengracht 276 very pleasing. You can find coffee and cakes for solid prices, you have wifi and a nice view of the canal and you can also enjoy a little art to the side since the café is kind of a gallery too, hosting temporary exhibits in the field of contemporary art.
• Another nice arty hangout with a stunning view of the harbour close to central station of Amsterdam is the Eye. It's a film museum with a shop, a cinema and a café and restaurant space which is beautifully designed. If you have a rainy day on your trip to Amsterdam, you surely can spend a whole afternoon in there enjoying the atmosphere. 
• Taking about views, we also recommend checking out the the Sky Lounge of the Hilton Hotel next to Amsterdams central station before leaving the city again. It's the perfect location to say good bye to Amsterdam and have one last look at the city from above, before going back to the airport again.
• If you want to have a nice drink in the evening, we suggest the Wynand Fockink, which is simply fun to go because it's an old tasting room of the Wynand Fockink liquers from the 17th century. It's quite a charming location and the liquor is just too good.
• Since there are other ways to to get high in Amsterdam, we stopped by a coffeeshop of course, for a "The Doors" fan the coffeeshop named after the famous band from the sixties in Singel 14 in the centrum of Amsterdam is a must.
• Getting high on art is also possible in the Public House of Art, Amsterdams anti-gallery in the Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 39 in the center of Amsterdam.
• For a quick but tasty and healthy breakfast we recommend Bagels and Beans or if you want a little more De Bakkerswinkel for breakfast, high tea or lunch.

Es ist so weit, die festlichste Zeit des Jahres steht vor der Tür. Ich weiß nicht, ob ihr große Weihnachtsfans seid, ich bin definitiv einer und ich finde immer, vier Wochen sind viel zu kurz für diesen glitzernden Wahnsinn. Ich stehe nicht grade auf die kalte, dunkle Jahreszeit, deshalb liebe ich Weihnachten so, weil es die dunklen Monate ein bisschen heller macht. Für mich ist, in den Weihnachtsspirit einzutauchen, daher fast eine Überlebensstrategie. Ich liebe es, wenn mein Tag mit einem Adventskalender anfängt, ich liebe die festliche Atmosphäre in den Straßen der Stadt und ich liebe es, mit Freunden und Familie eine gute Zeit zu haben, auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt oder bei einem Xmas Dinner. Sich dabei dem Anlass entsprechend zu kleiden gehört für mich dazu und wie könnte man seine Freude über die Weihnachtszeit besser ausdrücken, als mit einem Xmas Sweater. Das Gute ist, dass es mittlerweile viele Alternativen zu den langweiligen traditionellen Weihnachtspullovern gibt. It's that season of the year. I don't know if you go crazy about xmas, I definitely do and I always think four weeks are not enough for the madness. I'm not a fan of the cold, dark season, therefore I love xmas brighten it up a bit. To dive into that xmas spirtit, for me it's kind of a survival strategy for the dark months. I love to start my day with an advent calendar, I love the festive spirit on the streets in town and I love to come together with my friends and family to have a good time, visiting xmas markets or simply having a traditonal xmas dinner. Freunde der gepflegten Unterhaltung, morgen ist es endlich soweit, "Star Wars VII - Das Erwachen der Macht" geht an den Start. Wer sich auf ein Wiedersehen mit Han Solo genauso freut wie ich, wer meine Begeisterung für den Sound von Laserschwertern und berstenden Raumschiffen teilt, wer Yoda zitiert wie andere die Bibel, der kann verstehen, dass die Vorfreude auf den neuen Star Wars Film schon im Vorfeld mit entsprechender Fanwear zur Schau getragen wird. Nie war der Hype um die von George Lucas erdachte Sience Fiction Saga größer, nie gab es mehr Star Wars Merch- und Fashion. Black Milk Clothing haben bereits 2012 vorgelegt mit einer dreiteiligen Star Wars Kollektion, die zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt schon Kult-Status hat. Irregular Choice hat in diesem Jahr dann mit einer Star Wars Schuh Kollektion nachgelegt und auch We Love Fine haben in diesem Jahr eine Star Wars Kollektion auf den Markt gebracht, die jedes Fan-Herz höher schlagen lässt - jetzt muss nur der Film noch ein Knüller sein, dann passt's. Dear friends of good entertainment, tomorrow finally is that day, "Star Wars VII - The Force Awakens" hits the cinemas. If you look forward, like I do, to see Han Solo again, if you love the sound of lightsabers and spaceships falling apart, if you quote Yoda like others the bible, then you surely do understand that this release needs to be celebrated with adequate fan wear. Never the hype about George Lucas' Sience Fiction saga was bigger, never there has been more Star Wars merch and fashion around. Already in 2012 the australian alternative fashion label Black Milk Clothing launched their famous Star Wars collection. then this year Irregular Choice came up with a rad Star Wars shoe collection and We Love Fine have a special Star Wars stuff too. Let's hope the movie is just as good as the fashion, then nothing can go wrong. How about you, is the 17th december this year a special day for you too? Are you a Star Wars fan? If so and you're one of my Berlin readers or you're visiting, I recommend to check out Madame Tussauds Berlin, where they have a special Star Wars section. Nicht nur Größen wie Yves Saint Laurent oder Christian Louboutin haben sich von Piet Mondrian inspirieren lassen, auch das Alternative Fashion Kult-Label Black Milk Clothing hat dem Niederländer mit der Mondrian-Leggings Tribut gezollt, ebenso haben Vans einen Mondrian-Schuh auf den Markt gebracht und Mademoiselle Ilo sorgt für die Latex-Interpretation der weltberühmten Kompositionen mit rot, gelb und blau. Sogar Nailart gibt es im Mondrian Look.
