What would your muse be ... Bryan Black?

by - April 28, 2014

Der sagte über die Black Acid Remix EP: "Twice a year I spend a weekend at my factory in the middle of nowhere, Italy, focusing on the launch of Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter collections - womens, mens, DRKSHDW, Lilies, bags, shoes - I listened to your remix album the entire time, so what ever comes out is your fault.".

Muse gibt Bryan Black nun preis, was ihn sonst noch inspiriert.

What would your muse be if it was ...

a book: American Psycho
a movie: Alien
a city or place: Tokyo
a sound or tune: Techno
a magazine: StyleZeitgeist
an inspirational quote or a motto: "If you're not going to be discreet and quiet, then just go all the way and have the balls to shave your eyebrowes, bleach your hair, and put on some big bracelets." - Rick Owens
an artist: Richard Serra
a style icon: Prince ca. 1983

His music is dark, pure, raw, uncompromising and focused and so is his style. Rarely seen without shades, Bryan Black, the man behind Black Asteroid, often collaborates with designers, for example Raf Simons and Rick Owens, both used tracks produced by Black Asteroid for their runway shows. In return the visual identity of Black Asteroid is inspired by them too. So not only in his music videos ("Grind" or "Black Acid" for example) high-end designer pieces are shown, Bryan Black wears them himself with passion - beside many other black and white impressions, you get a glimpse of that following him on instagram. As always I am facinated by the interplay of fashion and music and how one affects the other. So the upcoming Black Asteroid debut album will feature cover art in collaboration with Rick Owens, who once said about Black Asteroids Black Acid Remix EP: "Twice a year I spend a weekend at my factory in the middle of nowhere, Italy, focusing on the launch of Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter collections - womens, mens, DRKSHDW, Lilies, bags, shoes - I listened to your remix album the entire time, so what ever comes out is your fault.".

Since 2011 Bryan Black beats up the Techno world performing as Black Asteroid. Before doing so he was part of Motor, Xlover and Haloblack. He once started his musical career as a sound engenieer for Prince. On Anti.Muse you now can find out what else influences him.
